REQ’ing It

So I’m finally getting into the nitty-gritty of Halo 5’s REQ system. I haven’t picked up the game in months because I got tired of some things like, being matched up against players ten times better than me, dealing with teabaggers (which I think is sexual harassment and disrespectful, and I truly hope there are some people out there who feel the same way), and other issues.

It sucks how the REQ system is set up to start at the lowest and work your way up, but it hit me when I realized, hey I don’t like Warzone, but I can sell stuff that I don’t need! So I went and turned on Halo 5 during one of my study breaks yesterday and sold every single power weapon, vehicle, and other REQs that I didn’t need (except for the boosters), and then I binge spent my points on Bronze packs. After that, now I’m more than halfway done acquiring all of the Common items.

Sometimes I like to think of it as opening a pack of trading cards since I went through that phase in high school when I was buying Pokemon and Chaotic cards. Since they were really cheap, I would buy 4 packs on a weekly basis.

When you start at the bronze it feels great because they’re cheap, you’ll be able to afford at least one after a match whether you win or lose.

I should have started at bronze from the beginning instead of jumping straight into gold and silver. That’s what they think you might do first until you realize that you’re just getting uncommon stuff.

The only disadvantage (and I may have said this before), is that you can’t work for something specific that you really want, be it an emblem or armor. I mean, it’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.

Yes a Forrest Gump reference was necessary.

That being said, I don’t want to give up on Halo 5 just because I didn’t like the story, its often toxic online community, and my skill level isn’t what I want it to be.

What sucks is most of the REQs I want are either ultra rare or legendary…..okay well there is one emblem I want that is only uncommon so I might unlock it sooner than I think. Still mad about the fact that they made a Librarian emblem but not a Didact one. That’s just appalling, completely appalling…..I say that as a Didact fangirl obviously. I have friends coming over that can probably take the time to make a Didact emblem, and it’ll take less than 10 minutes to do so.

Anyway, with reading week coming up, I’m looking to play Halo 5 some more and Knights of the Old Republic on my laptop, and of course write here.

Now I think I’ll go play for about an hour before I hit the sack, early rise tomorrow.
