The Super Happy Love Award

Well, look at this, another nomination and this time something totally new! Now we’re talking.

Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide nominated me for this award. This is going to be fun to write because I love gushing about the things I love!

Rules:

  1. Thank the person who tagged you, thank you so much Michelle! And make sure you tag the original post too. Use super happy love as one of the tags
  2. Display the logo in your post
  3. Choose a minimum of 2 out of these 6 questions, or add your own! Here are the following:

a. Tell us about person you love: It can be a family member, best friend, significant other, or even a celebrity that you look up to. As long as they walked on this planet at some point, that’s what matters.

b. Tell us about a fandom or franchise you love: You got a favourite video game/TV/movie series? Or perhaps you just love a franchise in general that’s been with you all your life. Share with us why you love it so much.

c. Share something about a character you love: It can be a character you look up to, or a character you’re in love with. (this is going to be tough for me!)

d. A type of music that you love: Whether it’s a band, a song, or a genre tell us why you love it.

e. Show us why you love a piece of media so much: it could be a community, book, game, whatever!

f. Write something about yourself that you love: This should be interesting. Everyone should have at least one thing that they love about themselves.

4. Don’t be afraid to get carried away with the things you love, (I do that anyway so this will be fun!) this is a post about positivity.

5. Tag at least six bloggers to participate

6. Whoever comments is also nominated as well so everyone is welcome!

Alright, I’ve given you the rules, now it’s my turn to answer the prompts of my choice.

A person I love

I don’t like to get too personal on this subject out of the respect of my family and closest friends rights to privacy, so I’m left with no choice except the one and only:

Anyone who knows me well enough knows that Mr. Lordi, the frontman of the band Lordi is my idol and has inspired me more than any other famous person has. (he’s not THAT famous, there’s many who don’t know him still) He is the very reason, I write on this blog to this day.

Don’t let his appearance frighten you! He is actually one of the nicest and funniest guys on the planet, and that’s what made me love him more than just what he does on stage and when he sings.

The title of my blog is a subtle tribute to him and he has inspired me to be proud of myself for who I am and to always remember that I shouldn’t care what people think about what I do in life, as long as I am happy and am enjoying myself.

I met him once very briefly but was so starstruck my mind went blank, I am hoping if there ever is a next time, I’ll be able to tell him how much I love him. Sure, I say it all the time here and, but it’ll have much more meaning to it in person.

A fandom/franchise I love

Star Wars has been part of my life since I was 5 years old. No matter how much it changes, it will always hold a special place in my heart. I watched A New Hope at that age, and then, I was obsessed ever since.

I’m also not afraid to admit that my favourite era of this beloved franchise is the prequel trilogy and Clone Wars. There are so many amazing characters in the latter and so many more planets that the original trilogy did not show us.

Since then, I’ve been a lover of anything sci-fi from the starships to the aliens.

A character I love

Whoa, this is really tough. In terms of characters I love like a crush, I have more than ten, and characters I love a different way like a friend or sibling is even more, so I’ll pick one that has been in my heart the longest.

Optimus Prime has been in my heart since February 13th 2010 (yes I remember the exact date that I realized I loved him!) He’s also very influential to me like Mr. Lordi, inspiring me to choose my own path in life. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, he always says.

He’s also very compassionate to other living things and tries to resolve conflict without too much bloodshed. I’ve always loved his strong sense of honor and desire for peace as well. Maybe the world would be a better place if he was in charge!

I love him primarily in the G1 series, Prime, and the video games where he looks different in each of them, and the first Bay film only. He never fails to look badass. I’ll never forget meeting the voice actor who was nicest man ever and was truly touched by my love for the character.

A type of music I love

I love lots of music from heavy metal and rock to pop, but I also really love video game soundtracks.

Pokemon was the game soundtrack of my childhood with so many epic battle themes. I have an entire YouTube playlist full of my favourite tracks from the Pokemon universe spanning across several of the generations.

Example:

Half of the songs on my playlist are from this game. When I copied my Pokemon from my Pearl game to this one and battled at the coliseum with this theme, the moment I saw my Palkia on the big screen for the first time, I felt like my heart had stopped. I was smitten.

What I love about myself

I have overcome many challenges in my life despite my condition. Many people on the autism spectrum do not pursue the same level of schooling or work jobs like mine.

I also love how passionate I can be about something I enjoy and how I strive to be an independent woman. Most people I’ve met often have insecurities that I would never have and I am also not afraid to be myself. Despite all the bullying I dealt with just for being myself, I survived and I don’t let societal norms tell me how to live my life.

  1. In all the times I have read your blog, I didn’t know you were on the autism spectrum. I’m glad you shared it on this post. It sounds like you have grown as a person and that’s definitely a major accomplishment

    1. Yes I do, I was diagnosed at age 4. It’s Asperger’s Syndrome, a minor but high-functioning form of autism. You could say that’s why I talk so passionately about the things I love and stick to doing my own thing when other bloggers follow a trend. But I am proud of what I’ve achieved.

      1. Above average intelligence is pretty common. It’s also more common in boys than girls so I consider myself very lucky to get an early diagnosis. Lots of girls go undiagnosed for years or misdiagnosed because we do not have the same symptoms as boys. We just view the world differently than others and with my blog I can write about those things.
